Gustavo Meyreles MD

Dr. Gustavo Meyreles-Chaljub (He/Him) is a double board-certified endocrinologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

He has extensive training and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders and provides compassionate care for a wide range of conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disease, Hormonal Replacement Therapy, PCOS, obesity, and Osteoporosis.  

Upon completing his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, he joined the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where he was able to advance his career further while helping one of the communities with highest prevalence of obesity and Diabetes in the Southeast region.

He shares particular interest in prevention of cardiometabolic disorders and the use of cutting-edge technology in the management of Diabetes such as continuous glucose monitoring -CGM- and insulin pumps. He is experienced in the use of Ultrasound of the head and neck as well performance of Ultrasound Guided Fine Needle Aspiration (USGFNA) for the diagnosis of thyroid and parathyroid disorders. He has vast knowledge and experience in the field of Endocrine Disruptors Chemicals (EDCs), specifically prevention of exposure and safe use of these chemicals.

Committed to staying at the forefront of the latest advancements in endocrinology, Dr. Meyreles is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Meyreles is an advocate for health equity and diversity, working to empower his patients to take charge of their health and well-being. Madeline Candelario MD

Dr. Madeline Candelario-Cosme (She/Her) is a double board-certified adult endocrinologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.

After completing her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, she held a faculty position at USF and was appointed Clinical Site Director at Tampa General Hospital for the Endocrinology fellowship program. She served in this role while being a faculty member for over five years. In this position, she led clinical operations and mentored future endocrinologists.

With a distinguished background in academic medicine, Dr. Candelario has extensive training and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders, including diabetes mellitus, pituitary gland dysfunction and tumors, thyroid disease, parathyroid disorders, adrenal gland dysfunction and tumors, hormone replacement therapy, PCOS, and transgender care medicine.

Dr. Candelario is fluent in both English and Spanish, ensuring accessible and personalized care for a diverse patient population. Her comprehensive background in academic and varied clinical settings allows her to integrate her expertise in evidence-based medicine with compassionate care in our clinical practice.

Evaluation and management of obesity. We provide assessment of possible underlying conditions causing obesity and assist with medical intervention to improve weight loss, complimenting with nutrition and dietary counseling.

We provide aftercare and support to patients who have undergone bariatric surgery. This type of care helps patients adjust to their new eating habits, monitors their progress, and addresses any potential long-term complications or side effects due to malabsorption of certain nutrients and minerals.

Evaluation and management of cholesterol and triglycerides disorders.

 

We work closely with other specialties such as cardiology to provide primary prevention and secondary prevention of cardiometabolic disorders.
