Dr. Madeline Candelario-Cosme (She/Her) is a double board-certified adult endocrinologist, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. She provides comprehensive, evidence-based endocrine care with a strong foundation in academic medicine and clinical leadership.
Dr. Candelario completed her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, after which she joined the USF faculty. She was appointed Clinical Site Director at Tampa General Hospital for the Endocrinology Fellowship Program, a role she held for over five years. In this leadership position, she directed clinical operations and played a key role in training and mentoring future endocrinologists, further solidifying her expertise in complex endocrine disease management.
She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus, pituitary disorders and tumors, thyroid and parathyroid disease, adrenal gland disorders and tumors, hormone replacement therapy, PCOS, and transgender care medicine. Her academic background and experience across diverse clinical settings allow her to manage both common and highly complex endocrine conditions with precision and confidence.
Dr. Candelario is fluent in both English and Spanish, ensuring culturally sensitive, accessible, and personalized care for a diverse patient population. She is deeply committed to integrating evidence-based medicine with compassionate, patient-centered care, empowering individuals to actively participate in their long-term health and well-being.
