Gustavo Meyreles-Chaljub, MD

Dr. Gustavo Meyreles-Chaljub (He/Him) is a double board-certified endocrinologist, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. He provides personalized, evidence-based endocrine care with a strong focus on complex thyroid and metabolic conditions.
Dr. Meyreles specializes in the diagnosis and management of thyroid cancer, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, diabetes, hormone replacement therapy, PCOS, obesity, osteoporosis, and cardiometabolic risk reduction. He is particularly recognized for incorporating advanced diabetes technologies, including continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and insulin pump therapy, to help patients achieve optimal control while minimizing treatment burden.
He completed his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the University of South Florida (USF) and subsequently joined the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where he managed high-volume thyroid disease and complex metabolic cases in one of the Southeast’s most clinically demanding regions—shaping a practical, outcomes-driven approach to care.
Dr. Meyreles is highly skilled in the interpretation of head and neck ultrasound and ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (US-FNA) for the evaluation and management of thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, and parathyroid adenomas, and collaborates closely with radiology, pathology, and endocrine surgery teams to ensure accurate diagnosis and coordinated care. He also has extensive expertise in endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), with a focus on exposure prevention and patient education.
